Project Description

The Lake View Elementary School integrates the buildings into the slope of a small sloping site. From the street side, the profile of the structures will be kept low and residential in scale and character. A portion of the buildings are two-story, yet each story has entrances on-grade due to the slope of the site.

Lake View Elementary is organized with two major classroom clusters oriented toward the common spaces: Administration offices, Library/Media Center, Multi-Purpose room, and Central amphitheater. Classrooms are clustered in groups of six, adjacent to teacher planing centers for six teachers. All clusters and circulation patterns are designed for easy supervision.

The school is designed to blend with the character of the Promontory development. Lake View Elementary is designed for grades K-6, with three classrooms planned for each grade level, and special education. The campus is designed for 662 students and 60 staff with a master planned capacity of 812 students.
