Project Description

The Pittsburg High School Reconstruction and Renovation replaced the existing Pittsburg High School campus, serves grades 9-12 and is located on a 40 acre site at the corner of Harbor Street and School Street in downtown Pittsburg. The design unifies the high school by replacing the previous three separate campuses of which the Pittsburg High School consisted with one efficient two story building. The new campus has a student capacity of 2,800 students with 108 teaching stations (excluding physical education).

The new 18,000 square foot Gymnasium is a steel framed concrete tilt-up building. The entire gym was built and installed within 8 weeks. The modernization portion of this project consists of modernizing the entire Creative Arts Building and two existing smaller Gymnasiums.

As part of the new Pittsburg High School campus, a new CTE wing was built to integrate PHS’s major programs – Construction, Transportation, and Information Technology – with the science and mathematics departments. Through combined efforts of the District, Funding Consultant, and California Design West Architects, the District received over $4 Million in funding for their CTE programs.
